We've Got the Blues in 2020

Pantone selects Classic Blue as its 2020 Color of the Year.

According to the Color Institute, this shade "instills calm, confidence, and connection" and is an "enduring blue hue that highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era."

Pantone's picks for the Spring/Summer 2020 palette include four shades of blue!

  • Classic Blue - boundless and evocative of the night sky
  • Mosaic Blue - a teal blue with an air of mystique
  • Faded Denim - a soft blue that conveys comfort and ease
  • Navy Blazer - a deep blue navy that's stylish and self-assured

The spring and summer shades also include punchy warm colors that counter-balance the cool blues. For instance:

  • Flame Scarlet - burns bright with confidence
  • Orange Peel - adds a tasty tang of citrus
  • Saffron - earthy and flavorful yellow
  • Cinnamon Stick - sweet and spicy warmth
  • Coral Pink - welcoming and softly sweet

The team at Island Cove has been sifting through our inventory of beads to find the most on-trend colors and shapes for you. Check out how these fresh for 2020 colors look paired up. Drop by this month or give us a call if you'd like to reserve a few strands. It's fun to mix old and new, pressed glass with genuine gemstones, and different tones of metal into your designs.

In addition to the 12 main colors in the palette, Pantone has identified four neutrals that mix and match with the more colorful tones. And luckily, Cove West has stocked up on these basic wardrobe-building pieces in khaki, navy, white, and ash grey.
